Dr. Mia Summers, DAcCHM, L.Ac, is committed to helping patients feel their best. Her interest in traditional medicine stems from her Japanese upbringing and firsthand experience with herbal remedies. Dr. Summers graduated with a Doctorate in Acupuncture with a specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine (DAcCHM) and is a Board Certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Her clinical experiences include the Mount Sinai Institute for Family Health and Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, where she worked alongside western medicine practitioners treating patients in the areas of chronic pain, women’s health and other complex conditions. Dr. Summers founded Scottsdale Medical Acupuncture in 2024 and is excited to provide innovative, personalized care and relief to patients in the Scottsdale and greater Phoenix areas.
As an accomplished research chemist in natural product pharmaceutical drug discovery, Dr. Summers has numerous patents and publications. Having this scientific background, she has a great appreciation for the integrative benefits of both traditional eastern and modern western medical approaches in her clinical practice.
Dr. Summers is passionate about researching the most effective treatment modalities to combine with traditional acupuncture and herbal medicine, to give her patients the best care and hope for even the most challenging cases. She is additionally trained in Neurofunctional Acupuncture, which incorporates trigger point release, electro-stim acupuncture and manual therapies to effectively alleviate pain, as well as Frequency Specific Microcurrent, Ozone therapy, ATP Resonance Biotherapy, Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy, Facial Acupuncture and Esoteric Acupuncture. Dr. Summers thoughtfully tailors every treatment to help her patients achieve their goals as quickly and effectively as possible.
In her spare time, Dr. Summers likes to be outdoors in nature, explore new places, make pottery and listen to live music. She is an avid animal lover and cherishes spending time with her two wire-haired dachshunds.
Ashlynn Dickey is our Patient Care Coordinator. Originally from Washington and Alaska, Ashlynn enjoys spending time outdoors with friends in sunny Arizona, which she now calls home. With several years of experience in home healthcare, Ashlynn provides compassionate, patient-centered support that enhances comfort, safety, and overall well-being. Known for her friendly and professional approach, Ashlynn brings both strong clinical skills and a deep commitment to quality care in every interaction.
